This is pretty cool: NYU’s digital journalism class has the students blogging. Scroll down the right rail and you’ll see a list of all the students’ blogs.
It’s definitely an innovation: it’s not like you can turn in any old piece of crap, knowing it’s between you and your teacher.
I can also imagine the competition: what’s it like to always know what the kid next to you is up to?
I suggest another innovation: instead of the teacher doing the grading, let the blogs’ readers do it. Or NYU could be evil and say whoever gets the most hits wins. Of course they’d have to explain all the Janet Jackson nipple pictures.
