So I have a solid two months of free-lance work lined up, which settles the “Tom needs to have a job before he starts blogging regularly again” issue. With any luck those two months can turn into a permanent gig, or as permanent as it gets these days.
Without naming names I can say the gigs are with people who contacted me primarily because of what they’ve read at Two-Heel Drive (I’d have thought the site proved only that I was beyond-the-pale geeky, but apparently I was inadvertently advertising marketable skills. Who knew?)
A fellow hiking blogger who also calls Carolina home has suggested a get-together; that also would give me an excuse to commit some blogging.
So, as the old guy in Monty Python and the Holy Grail said: I’m not dead!
Congratulations! I enjoy your writing and perspective very much. I hope you will consider hiking in the Midwest in the not too distant future.

Good to hear – I look forward to seeing what you come up with there
I am glad to hear from you Tom. I hope you get well established there with good employment, etc. I look forward to following your new adventures!
Can’t wait to see what lies in store for the East Coast Edition of Two-Heel Drive!
