The East Bay Hill People site (last seen here in May 2008) now has a map of sites throughout the East Bay that can be explored in greater detail on Google Earth.
Here’s a zoomed-down look at the map; the yellow blotches are the sites.
To get the full effect, download this zip archive, extract the .KML file and open it it Google Earth (download page here, if you don’t have it installed already).
Once you get into Google Earth, click on the campfires and you’ll find pictures and directions on how to find the sites. Fascinating stuff. It’s just one more way to hike through the Bay Area’s history.
