I noticed over the weekend I was experiencing pangs of longing to check out how my attempts at e-commerce were faring. Not something you want to experience on a camp-out.
That was when I realized a) the buck-chasing (well, penny-chasing) had taken over my life and, b) I very much wanted my life back. So, goodbye to all that.
One good thing: I’ve learned how many eyeballs I need to earn an honest living with a hiking blog. At current growth rates, Two-Heel Drive should be a viable business in November of 2061. Who’s to say a guy can’t keep a hiking blog till he’s a hundred years old?
Google will pass away some day- Hiking never will- Keep up the good work!
Don: appreciate the vote of confidence. I hope to still be hiking at age 100.
> I hope to still be hiking at age 100.
Cheers to that. Blog to hike, don’t hike to blog.
Tom,
there are lots of us out here who really enjoy your sites and who are grateful for the absence of pop-ups and other nuisance-ware.
for us the woods and all things woods is for contemplation and re-creation, not commercial exploitation. oh sure, everybody has to eat, we get that.
but some folks provide sustenance while others promote diabetes.
thanks for the healthy diet. live long and prosper, Tom.
