Two brothers’ luck almost ran out on Mount of the Holy Cross.
This happened back in October. They got separated on the way back down from the summit; one of the brothers spent a scary night on the hill but found his way back to where he’d parked his Jeep. He was about frozen solid at that point, but some of the rescue team was milling about and dispatched him to a hospital pronto. Very good read.
yeah, good read. the kid did some things right, obviously. he is still alive by the grace of god.
map and compass. if a person, young buck or no, is going to go into the woods (above the woods actually) basic orieneteering and survival equipment would be a good idea. sure would save some money for the rest of the community.
most stories like this one are classic tragedies and though, great, in this particular case the kid did not die from his own stupidity, there is here a sad commentary on the boys’ responsibility and maturity.
just because your legs can carry you up the mountain does not make you qualified to go there.
