From a teen’s account of visiting Yellowstone:
Our next stop was what we had come here to see: the infamous Old Faithful geyser. Scheduled to erupt every 92 minutes, we waited impatiently.
I know if I were scheduled to erupt every 92 minutes, I’d be impatient too!
(For those who’ve forgotten their grammar lessons, the second sentence is called a dangling participle … it’s one of my favorite boo-boos because it generates fun constructions like this one.)
I have this nasty habit of writing just a tad slower than I self – edit…thank Whomever for my trusty ol’ copies of “The Elements of Style”! While few have equated my writing and “style” within any rational framework, it’s a great resource. My old standby. Such gaffes are fun to see, as they validate that I, too, might have a place one day as a writer!
