Random Curiosity went to Lower Yosemite Falls on the weekend after Labor Day.
Friday was an impatient kid in the backseat of Mr. and Mrs. Weekend’s minivan repeatedly asking, “Are we there yet?”
Saturday was the hysterical mother screaming, “Do you want a time-out? Do you? Ask that one more time and I… Okay, that’s it, I’m pulling over! Five-minute time-out!”
Sunday was the matter-of-fact father saying over the cheering child, “See, if we had left him at the kennel like I suggested, there’d be no need to tie him to the roof rack.”
Calipidder posted her Mount Whitney pictures from the final leg of John Muir Trail hike.
Rick at Best Hikes posted his Flickr pix from White Mountain.
I did 5 nights out of North Lake. After climbing Piute Pass, it was mostly cross-country over Alpine Col to the Darwin Bench/Evolution Basin area, and then back via Lamarck Col. This was Thursday-Tuesday around Labor Day weekend.
The first night was rough. Nothing says windy like white caps on a small lake at 10,500′. We slept fitfully as rain pounded down the whole night, but we all stayed dry and the rest of the trip was beautiful. There weren’t a whole lot of people in the area, either.
I’ll have to delete some photos of my flikr page, but I’ll get the highlights up hopefully this weekend.
