I received an e-mail from Jeremy at Taiga Works in Vancouver asking if I’d like to add a link to their site from my list of gear makers/dealers.
From the looks of Taiga’s Web site, the gear appears to be a bit more hard-core than anything I’d be likely to use, seeing as how I’m not much of a mountaineer. Their combination jackets and sleeping bags seem quirky enough to rate a link on general principles, but I try to post permanent links only to stuff I actually use.
If any of you can add an endorsement, though, I’ll take your word for it.
Funny you should bring this up.. I just had to delete 203 pending requests for links on my blog. Though most of those were for sites selling drugs, online gaming or unmentionables. But, sorry I am NOT looking for any endorsements at this time. ;p
I ignore all illegitimate link requests … this one was on the border since I’ve never used the company, but it is on topic. And they have really cool inflatable kayaks.
They are, as I guess you probably know, not the only company that makes a sleeping bag that can be worn around camp. There’s also this by these folks, and these two by these folks (that I know of).
I visit the store every time I get to Vancouver, Tom.
Good stuff.

I have never thought of them as “high end”. The website makes it look that way, I see. Perhaps they are rebranding.
Anyway, they are for real.
If you ever get to Vancouver, I cannot think of a better selection of outdoor stores all within walking distance. All clustered around the market leader, MEC.
Store in Vancouver has moved:

I have a Taiga goretex jacket that I’ve used for years. It always keeps me dry even on the wettest days. I haven’t tried any of the other stuff in their store, but I give their jackets two thumbs up.
