C’mon! Unless we were there with you, how would we know? It could be any number of 1000 places I have been and not been to! But I’ll take a wild guess: a lake near Shasta?
Gambolin’ Man gets extra credit for paying attention.
It’s Gumboot Lake in Shasta-Trinity National Forest, site of last fall’s Outdoor Blogger Ho-Down. Which reminds me, it’s probably getting to be time to plan the next one.
OK, that’s actually my standing offer for a destination in Canada for a hiker or outdoor blogger meetup.
Since CA is the centER of the Outdoor Universe, perhaps somewhere near Yosemite (hint, hint) might draw more warm bodies. (Hoping Russ is bringing the wine.)
I hope to get out somewhere on the John Muir Trail in August / September.
That ones a little too easy 🙂
I think I crossed paths with some o’ them dad-gum bootists there last Fall….

Yeah, I guess thats either trivial if you were there or damn near impossible to differentiate from 1000 other high country lakes if you weren’t 🙂
Probably would have been a bit more fair if the dam was in the shot. (Just out of view on the right)
Is the photo Mt. Assiniboine in Canada?

I’m always up for a trip up to Yosemite.
Rick, I’m tentatively planning a JMT trip for September. Love to have company if you’re going to be around.
