PTC class o’ 2007 hopeful Stephanie is trying to get a small detail in order — the fact that her spine is a bit of train wreck — and reports back from her first chiropractic experience:
First, he sat me down and popped my neck. That was fast and didn’t hurt a bit. But judging from the way he was placing his hands on my shoulder and chin, and sort of pushing me away and down at an odd angle, I could have sworn it would have ended on the 11 o’clock news. I learned an important lesson immediately, sitting there, and that’s that you have to be fully present for this kind of treatment. It really requires you to understand your back and its problems and have reason to trust your doctor. I’ve got a good doctor who explained everything in detail and even gave me a pop quiz after he was done. Hah.
She says everything went fine despite sounds which compared favorably to lightning splitting a pine tree.
