I guess this is a status symbol: getting an e-mail saying “you’ve been blog-tagged” and instructing you to write five things nobody knows about you, and to blog-tag five more people. Like a chain letter without the threats of seven years’ bad luck for those who break the chain. Given that I’ve been blogging for 10 years, I can’t imagine I have many things that haven’t been written about somewhere or another — at least none I’d want known by my mom, who has been known to travel these parts in moments of weakness.
I got one last week from Winehiker Russ, who got one from Trout Underground. Yesterday I got one from Ken Spry, keeper of the Scouts Campfire blog. His five included Walt Underwood, Scoutmaster of Troop 14 in Palo Alto. Nice to have another potential local reader.
I think now that we’ve had our fun we can return to our regularly scheduled blogging tasks.
Heaven forbid that one of those five things nobody knows about you, Tom, is that you’ll have seven years of bad luck for not listing those five things! 🙂
Being outdoor bloggers, I think we should replace this with a new meme: send one retired hiking sock to six of your favorite outdoor chums, with instructions for them to do the same. Soon, we’ll all be able to identify each other with our eyes closed…
Old hiking socks never retire- they just fade away.
