Sunset magazine suggests checking out Zion National Park after the crowds thin out. I know folks whine and complain about the summer throngs at Zion but there’s something refreshing about being in a place that so totally overshadows the inconsequential concerns of humanity. A few thousand people are ants on the ground compared to the splendor of Zion Canyon.
But once you’ve been there, you’ll want to go back when the crowds are smaller, all the same.

I was in Zion for a few days, just a couple weeks ago and it was fantastic! Very few people, fall colors and very few people.
