So here’s the setup: A guy’s out backpacking with two friends. They’re walking along a pair of railroad tracks when they see an oncoming Amtrak train. They wisely step out of the way of the oncoming train and continue on their way.
One of the guys stops between the second set of tracks to adjust his pack. Behind his back a freight train is bearing down on him. His friends yell at him to get off the tracks but he can’t hear them because of the thundering noise of the Amtrak train. The freight train kills him.
I think the lesson here speaks for itself.
