Quite a few folks are interested in a weekend in the shadows of Mount Shasta from Oct. 6 to 8. The tally of those feeling tempted, according to the comments list at GoBlog:

Meanwhile, the one guy who lives closest to Shasta, Tom at The Trout Underground, sounds interested but notes that there’s no fishing on the side of the mountain where Climb_CA proposed camping out.
Climb_CA’s ulterior motive for this outing was to finagle some free fly-fishing lessons; I like eating them much better than trying to catch them. And speaking of food, Winehiker Russ almost sounds like he’s volunteering to do some cooking. So who knows what we might actually end up doing? All I know for sure is, I’ve never seen Shasta up close (only from the top of Lassen Peak), so I’m going up there that weekend.
We’ve got a month to finesse the details, and with any luck the inane chatter about this thing won’t run off all our visitors who aren’t coming along.
For now, I’ll develop an e-mail list of everybody who knows for sure they are coming. E-mail me at tom@mangan.com when you can commit. I’m also creating a link on my right-hand rail for all posts having to do with this outing.
