Tom, you don’t like the Mountain House freeze dried meals, seriously?
My girl friend and I both totally dig them, and they couldn’t be easier to fix up.
What do you normally make on the trails? I don’t eat the power bar type stuff for the same reason you mention. It tastes like card board..
I’m going to REI this weekend and I’m going to pick up a couple brands of “power gel” to test out. I want to see if they’re any good and what they taste like.
I’ve had better luck with the “ethnic” styled meals because they have a lot more seasoning, but other stuff like the beef stew left much to be desired.
I’ve got a weekender coming in a few weeks, I may give them another try for convenience’ sake.
