Jordan is the driving force behind backpackinglight.com.
I never knew he had a blog till this morning’s link check turned up one from Cutter’s blog, linking to Jordan’s experiment with live blogging via satellite link from the Montana’s Bridger Range.
Jordan also has a wake-up call to people who think they can go light in the winter for more than a couple days. An older post also declares that Labor Day Weekend is the end of of the hiking season, after which he issues lengthy reasons and strategies for going anyway.
The blog isn’t updated terribly often, but it looks like Ryan’s posts will be worth the wait.
Check out the comments, where you’ll see more evidence that Steve the WildeBeat guy is about as bad as, well, me, for spending too much time logged on the computer. Yo, Steve, we need to get out more!
“Yo, Steve, we need to get out more!”
I was out last weekend, skiing into one of the Sierra Club backcountry huts near Lake Tahoe for an overnight. I was too busy leading less experienced skiers to spend any time recording.
How about a snow-camping trip (details to be worked out in private e-mail)? Weekend after next? I have some gear you can borrow…
I think we can work something out…
An e-mail is on the way.
