I’ll go first: Panorama Trail at Yosemite National Park.
Runner-up: Berry Creek Falls Trail at Big Basin State Park in California.

Also: you can’t go wrong with any of the trails at the Pinnacles National Monument.
So, what, nobody has a favorite trail? C’mon folks, it’s embarrassing to post a request for feedback and have nobody feeding back.
I think a lot of people resisted answering this question for the same reason I did. Asking me to name my favorite trail is almost like asking someone to name their favorite among their children.
But since you pleaded… I’ll say it’s a toss-up between:
1) The Greenstone Ridge Trail in Isle Royale National Park.
2) The southern half of the JMT from Piute Creek to Mt. Whitney.
So many I want to do in other parts of the country and world…but i really like this’un

There are so many, but here are two; one local and another a bit further away.
Local: At Almaden Quicksilver Park, leave the Mockingbird Hill parking lot and pick up the New Almaden Trail. Follow it down into a small canyon (past amazing spring wildflowers) and continue through oak and grassland and canyon bottoms to eventually (an hour later?) turn left onto Prospect #3 Trail. Follow this to the ridge and turn right on Mine Hill, descending on Mine Hill or taking a side trip on Castillero through English Camp. Eventually pick up the New Almaden trail again and finally descend steeply back to the parking lot.
Yosemite: I’ll describe this in somewhat vague terms. Take a two- or three-day loop including Lyell Canyon, Ireland Lake, Fletcher Lake, and Rafferty Creek. Great cross-country travel opportunites abound in the Ireland Lake area.

For a short hike nearby, I have two: Fall Creek in Felton and Hidden Villa in Los Altos. Both offer interesting streams — one of my favorite features, varied terrain, and lots of photo spots with dramatic lighting. And both offer easy to hard options.
In Yosemite, the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne down to Pate Valley and then back up and around to Tuolumne Meadows through the highlands
Locally, the Butano Ridge Loop in Pescadero Creek County Park or anything in Butano State Park but especially Goat Hill
