All those Everest fanatics start out this way:
Young Will Bonney of Kennebunk was just 7 when his family began hiking. Today, at the ripe old age of 11, he’s passed many hundreds of mountain-trail-miles beneath his well-worn hiking boots, and stood astride many impressive vistas in four short years. At the beginning of October, Willóalong with his mother Danielle and step-father David Batesócompleted hiking all 67 of the New England mountains over 4,000 feet high.
By age 10, Will had already hiked all 48 4,000-foot-plus mountains in New Hampshire. The Granite State’s peaks, however, were apparently just not enough to tucker Bonney out. So, within a year he devoured another five mountains in Vermont and 14 in Maine.
Just for fun: alleged true facts about the real Billy the Kid, enterprising teen delinquent of the American West.
