I’ve set aside five vacation days in May coinciding with Trail Days, which runs May 18-20 in Damascus, Virginia. Travel days are the 17th and the 21st.
I realize there are inherent issues with spending three days surrounded by thousands of hygiene-challenged hiker types, but hey, your loved ones put up with you, right? I feel like if you want to experience Trail Days, you have to pitch your tent in the city park like everybody else and go with the flow. Be the Trail, or something. Finding solitude and oneness with nature is what the rest of the year is for.
For now, all I know is that I plan to go. I’ll post updates of stuff as I learn it. If you’re coming, let me know and we can get figure out how to meet up in Damascus.
I expect to be there Tom. Looking forward to it.
(Still waiting on my work schedule to be finalized. Will let you know when I can confirm.)
