Yesterday was a hiking day, which allowed a few links to pile up in my ol’ RSS reader. So, let’s get linkin’:
Blackpacker has an extensive guide to getting where you want to go, including excellent tips on hiking along railroad tracks and avoiding serial killers when hitch-hiking.
Airplane Journal recounts a devil of a hike at Mount Diablo.
GoBlog laments how many gear manufactures sell their wares to the war machine, and shares a swell coupon at REI.
Dan Mitchell links to a report that a truly terrible mining piece of mining legislation has been axed.
Gadling urges a visit to Patagonia _ the region, not the retailer.
Outdoorness points out a wonderful Ebay deal on a North Face backpack.
Cutter ponders how to account for one’s gear.
I once spent a little time trying to develop the ultimate gear list spreadsheet. It was going to have a check-box system that would allow me to pre-select the items I wanted before to take on my next trip. Then that would lead to page would list only the items selected, providing a printer-friendly checklist for packing.
And then I decided I had better things to do with my life.
