Here’s the write-up, which appeared in today’s Eye section of the Mercury News.
The coast side is the obvious choice: cool breezes, spectacular views and a “cultural preserve” with Victorian-era houses, vehicles and farm implements plus and few 21st-century goats, horses and chickens.
The backcountry side is perhaps more rewarding for hiking purists: fewer people, delightful meadows and reasonably gentle grades leading up into hills that brush against forests of redwood and Douglas fir beyond the park’s borders.
Next up: Huddart County Park on June 19.
Oh my, why’d you have to go and take that picture of the Geese with their little babies on the trail. Don’t ‘cha know I’m a sucker for that? Now I’m going to have to go to that park. Cute! 🙂
