Something that annoys me: when designers call themselves “visual journalists.” It’s a problem of semantics that only a copy editor could love: When “visual” modifies “journalist” it creates a subset. Of course they don’t mean it because they are nice people, but what they’re saying is, “we’re visual, unlike the rest of you, who aren’t.” The thing is, as long our optic nerves, corneas and other parts are in proper working order, we’re all visual journalists, which renders the distinction meaningless.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
