Thursday night is the first round in the NCAA tournament. After hard day of talking shop, folks are kicking back with libations and staring up at little TV screens.
That’s Wayne Countryman, formerly of the Baltimore Sun, on the right. He’s been an email correspondent of mine going back to the mid-1990s; I met him in the flesh for the first time yesterday.
The guy on the left runs the desk at the paper in Lake Charles, Louisiana. I forgot to get his name (it’s the beer’s fault). The guy in back is from Maryland, if what’s left of my memory serves.
