Snapshot of the editing life, 2003-04

“Prints the Chaff”was a blog for editors I created in the fall of 2003 and updated more than 800 times till the last post of any consequence appeared in May 2004. I removed the site when I stopped updating, but the other day I stumbled across a backup of the site’s posts and learned it would be extremely easy to import them into a WordPress install.

So here they stand in all their dated glory. Most of the links are broken, and many of the blogs I linked to have also given up the ghost. But it’s worth thumbing through to see how things were before “blog” was a household word.

Not long after I shuttered Prints the Chaff, I took up hiking. Two-Heel Drive, my hiking blog, showed up about five months later.
