About to head home

Thanks for your kind attention.

Yes, I consumed too many Shiner Bocks. Ears are still ringing a bit from the Southern Culture on the Skids show. Haven’t had a decent night’s sleep in a week.

But I’m not complaining.

So last night we were in this rotating restaurant at the top of the hotel, talking about something or other, when for no sane reason I blurted out:

“OK, I’m changing the subject: Wouldn’t it be cool to base jump from the top floor of the atrium? It’s 30 floors, there’s plenty of room for a parachute to open.”

Let’s just say nobody was prepared for such a suggestion. Everybody busted out laughing, more at the incongruousness of the notion than any inherent humor.

Here’s the atrium, looking up from ground level.

I love suggesting things I’d never have enough nerve to try myself.

Well, it’s time to pack up and get back to California.

Fine time had by all. I highly recommend it, and not just for the beer and conversation.

Glad you had a most groovy time.
Did SKOTS throw any fried chicken at you?

Sorry … almost 2 a.m. and brain turned off. SCOTS.

Yeah… chicken was hurled … missed me but hit the guy I was with.
Made the floor all greasy … I can see why, for reasons of insurance liability, they wait till late in the show to do that.
