Stylin’ & Smilin’ insists we continue to replace “over” with “more than.” I still do it reflexively, out of loyalty to my favorite professors or something, but I think this battle is lost. “Over” was come to mean “more than” in the same way that temperatures have taken on the ability to be hot or cold. Plus I’m suspicious of editing that adds words to a story. I’ll wait for guidance from the Style Gods on this one but I’ll not be sad to see it go.
